Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Researcher

Sydney Lessard is a sexual and reproductive health and rights researcher and Master of Advanced Healthcare Practice candidate at Western University in Canada. She previously spent three months in Uganda conducting research on access to gender-affirming hormone therapy for trans women, in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases Institute and AfroVive as part of her Master of Global Health Systems. Currently, she is leading a project in collaboration to develop a trauma-informed pathway connecting individuals experiencing homelessness and living with HIV to primary care in Canada. Her work focuses on advancing equitable, patient-centred, and culturally safe healthcare for marginalized populations.
